Well this village has now proved that Nostalgia is most definitely not a thing of the past!
What a day on Saturday! In spite of the weather not being too good – loads of Scarecrows, Hop picking gear, Pet animals to pat and the BBQ.   Most of all crowds of people having fun and walking off around Sprivers.   Sunday much of the same thing with people walking to Church with their harvest gifts and climbing the Tower.
Huge amount of food and other items collected for the Foodstorehouse but, have to say, the grand array of gifts at our Primary School left us in the shade! Simply amazing and even better to see some of the children distributing goodies around the village.  The future is bright!

Thursday 27 September

Great film show on Thursday with a good attendance for 'On Golden Pond'.  Makes an excellent and cheap night out at your Club. Why not join our 'regulars' next time? Film yet to be chosen but it will be on Thursday 18thOctober.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning yesterday was a huge success. Still counting the funds raised but our thanks to Pauline and her team for filling our Club with generous people who gained much fun and enjoyment.

Treasure Chest this Friday is up to  £235 !!!  The draw takes place at 9.15 pm Come and buy your tickets ,win the draw and then choose the right key.  Will it be won this time ?? - not by you if you don't come and buy a ticket!

Friday 21st September 2018

Just one of the great things that we have in wonderful community is the generosity of our people in supporting all sorts of charities.  I wonder how much is raised in our Club by offering our facilities for fund raising?
Heath Stores do an amazing job too.  Hardly a month goes by without some ingenious fund raising scheme (this week being served by a 'pirate' in aid of prostrate cancer.)   Of course there are others and this paragraph prompted by the efforts last week of Ann Cobley and her team at the Tennis Club.  Not only did they give people a day of fun and enjoyment they raised a fantastic near £6000 for Save the Children! So well done to all fund raisers and a big THANK YOU to all who give.
