HAPPY St PATRICK's DAY !! (Tomorrow)
First our apologies for any disruption and inconvenience that may be caused at your Club over the next 14 days – you will be pleased to know it is all for the good and will make our Club even better.  The woodwork and guttering is to be repainted. Our new Front Door is to be installed and the astro grass laid in our War Memorial garden.

It has snowed!!  Can we remind all our members to 'look out' for your neighbours in this spell of bad weather.  Make sure the elderly, who may live near you, are warm, dry and have food etc and the younger ones are coping OK.   Love your neighbour is the name of the game!

So it is RACE NIGHT tomorrow! (Saturday).  At your Club, of course, starting at 8 pm.  Win or lose it is a fun evening cheering on nameless horses and perhaps winning a bit of pocket money or losing not too much of it!  Free entry to members but bring guests who have to sign in and put a donation in the charity boxes.

Our new distribution system for newsletters etc has worked very well. The odd small adjustments perhaps but a BIG 'thank you' to Billie and John for getting this sorted.  This means we no longer have to call on the willing help of Phil T now residing in deepest Cornwall. Sad that he has left us and we miss him.   Always dependable and always the first to volunteer his services – real Club stalwart working away behind the scenes.  When I look back it was he who introduced Table Tennis  and pioneered the Film Nights. Who will ever stop talking of his 'Address to the Haggis”?! Let us hope he will visit soon so that we can reminisce and drink a toast to him.

With luck this newsletter will be coming to you from our new mailing system that John and Billie E-B have managed to get into operation. Well done to them and there will be tributes to Phil for his past relentless tasks over the years if this transmission works!

This weekend is all about the HORSMONDEN SUMMER FESTIVAL. If you are not aware now of all that is happening, you must have been asleep! One thing is certain – it is going to be a great weekend much of which will cost you nothing and it will give you the chance to join with the rest of our community simply having fun!
