Excellent reports of the Historical and Nostalgical activities at your Club last week.  Over 50 members and guests of the Historical Society dining on Fish and Chips before their AGM on Wednesday - very encouraging for them and for our community.

On Thursday a huge turn out for the Nostalgia Group launch.  Your Club brim full people from far and wide but with roots in our village.  What memories were bought back and what stories retold!  Well done to John F and his helpers for putting on such a good and worthwhile event- it will be repeated.  The Archive Group  will soon be putting together all the various material that has been collated.  Speak to John if you have a urge to join them.

Your Club open as usual in the evening at 7 pm.  Jan and Chris pulling the pints to start with – smiling and taking your money! Followed by Charlie with his dry humour and eco-green car!  Treasure Chest will be operating  and has £160with 11 keys.

Time to start thinking (and acting) about the Horsmonden Summer Festival. (even though it still feels like Winter).Takes place on the Green from Friday 8th June through to Sunday 10th.  The whole weekend is organised and run by the Horsmonden Village Events Committee (HoVEC). There will be the usual HUGE DINNER event on the Friday night in the gigantic marquee. NOTE !!!tickets for this go on sale from this coming Thursday (5th April).  Tables of 10 or 12 at £20 a head.  If you intend going to this event be quick as tickets go very fast and many have been disappointed in the past – so you have been warned.
Orders with cash or cheque in favour of HoVEC to Sara F. (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)  who lives at Grabridge on the Goudhurst Road.  Don't forget sales open on 5th- not before and , no doubt , will be sold out pretty soon!

The bus is full! For our trip to the Dog Racing.  Led by your President a few have booked and not paid.  He will do so soon and we hope the few others will follow suit!   Looks like a good evening out and we may have to get a double decker next year!

Those lucky enough to have obtained tickets for our St Georges Dinner will be asked to wear something  patriotic/English so start searching around – you might find your Easter bonnet whilst doing so.

Any surplus Easter eggs can find a good home in our Food Store Box- children eat chocolate at any time!

PS- please be aware that the outside of your Club will be repainted and repaired starting on Tuesday.  Work will take around 10 days and we apologise for any inconvenience.
