On FRIDAY,  it is the second Nostalgia Day at our Club. Word has 'got around' about the success of the first and it is expected that even more and different people will attend this one.  All sorts of memorabilia on show and brought in and people who remember both good and bad old days in our village will be exaggerating their memories with each other over copious cups of tea or even a drink.  Starts at 2 pm and will go on until around 5pm.   All welcome and a good way to find out about the recent history of out village.
In the evening your Club open as usual from 7 pm with the TreasureChest
in operation around 9.15.  £80 + could be won with 11 keys left.
Around this, it is Wine Tasting time.  A chance to choose the wines to be sold by us at the Summer Festival.  'Blind Tasting' means no labels to lure your taste buds!  £2 entry for ' tasters' (Guests £5)

Saturday is ROYAL WEDDING DAY!!!.  And where better to spend it than in your Club – we are ready for you. BIG SCREEN of the whole day's events.  Bar will be open and our wonderful WI providing sumptuous teas, sandwiches and cakes.  (You are invited to make a charity donation for these).   Real 'British ' occasion with all the pomp and ceremony which is a symbol of our great country.  Be there with friends, neighbours and , of course, family.

As that great event fades from the BIG SCREEN it is FA CUP time direct from Wembley Stadium.  Probably start around 5.30 pm if the bride is not late!  And then Saturday evening our Club is yet again transformed for the Horsmonden Kindergarten Race Night.  They urgently need funds and ask, and deserve, YOUR support.  It is going to be a well run fun evening  with a 'feast' of a hot dinner thrown in with your £12 ticket.  Should start soon after 7.30.

Get your tickets from the Kindergarten or Lauren (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or there are some at the Club bar.
“ I've got an 'orse”--- who said that?

Sunday is at it should be with just our normal opening at 12 noon with friendly chatter and perhaps a chance to take your drinks outside and sit in our Memorial Garden taking in the Village Green scene.

Monday is Table Tennisfrom 2pm – 4pm.  Players of any standard welcomed and made welcome!   Always much laughter, good losers and gracious winners.  Only doubles played so you can blame always your partner!

NO Coffee Morning this week as Pauline and gang are away but on
THURSDAY (24th) our village Historical Society hold their monthly meeting. 8 pm.  This time Heather Dyke (nee Morland) will be 're-discovering'  Court Lodge – that is the mansion that sits in the centre of Lamberhurst Golf Club – and the Moreland family; their connections with Horsmonden and the Austen family.  The latter being the huge benefactors of our village and included author Jane.

Now to last week.  Dot Parsons party on Saturday afternoon was a lovely occasion.  So many 'not often seen ' faces seen enjoying our Club – almost like a Nostalgia day!  It looked great with tables set out for Afternoon Tea with cake stands and flowers.

In the evening it was Harry's Quiz Night.  Yet many more people who we do not see very much and others finding our club for the first time. Good time had by all and around £600 raised for Harry's charity trip.  Well done to all concerned.  We had a nice note of thanks from the Mills family and we thank them for using our Club.

Our Battlefields tourists returned tired but happy having experienced a very interesting and informative 3 days centred on the French town of Amiens.  At first it may seem the tour little morbid but all agree it was a most enlightening experience. A 'pilgrimage' that all would be happy to do again. Sadness, fun and thanks, seems to sum it up.

Now the HORSMONDEN SUMMER FESTIVAL has almost crept up on us.  Your Club is playing a huge part and many of our members are working hard to make it yet another success.  Support this weekend – apart from the Friday Night marquee Dinner , it is ALL FREE !!!  Join in the fun from the Friday Night dinner to the Village Tea Party on Sunday.  8Th, 9th and 10th June.  Ask your family and friends and show them what goes on here!
The bars will be run by your Club through out with our usual volunteers working their socks off.   Dinner Dance, School Fete, Live Music to suit all, Food stalls to picnic from, Church Service, Children's entertainment, Classic Cars, Brass Band and a HUGE TEA PARTY.
Let your hair down and let's have a ball!

Just a reminder that our Club does have a very good website.  Loads of information including a diary of future events.  You can also access the minutes of your Club Committee meetings to find out what is planned and discussed.  We also have the Club Notice Board in your Club of course.

WE hope to see you ALL over 'Super Weekend' !!

PS- SUMMER FESTIVAL raffle tickets will be on sale in our Club this weekend.  Buy the winning ticket and watch the Wedding- can't be bad!
