What a great place our Club continues to be for fund raising events !  On Saturday we had TWO of these.  First another good Men's Breakfast where, apart from eating well and meeting people, £185 was raised for the Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide (based in Marden).  Then we had a big
Charity Quiz Night run by Sulwen in aid of Scouts going to the World Jamboree.  Hugely successful evening in all ways resulted in a massive £1500 being raised. Sulwen and all of us send our thanks and congratulations to all who worked to put this together.  Well done!!

The title “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe'” did not attract too many people yo our Film Night last Thursday. Those who did come were treated to a real treat.  One of those films you immediately want to see again to fill in the bits you missed! For the future remember not to be put off by an obscure title, these films are selected by people who have seen them and thought them good enough to be 'shared' with others. Certainly this was the case here, so look out for July's Film.

World Cup Football on our Big Screen is proving very popular. Good crowd of good hearted folk watching England performing above our expectations.  Next showing will be on Monday or Tuesday – depending on the draw. (look on our website for details)

Our next Nostalgia Day is almost upon us.  Friday 6thJuly 2pm to 5pm.
Bygone days in Horsmonden features memorabilia of all sorts that are just about within living memory.  Everybody welcome to join in this intriguing few hours.  If you have something that could be of interest – bring it with you as it can be scanned /copied and put on permanent record by our group of Archivists. Refreshments served while you browse around the exhibits and chat.

Just a quick comment about 'Housekeeping' at your Club.  Standards are slipping just a bit.  The vast majority of our members do this so please keep it up, for others please make sure that if you move chairs and tables for your activities in the Club you return them to their original places  before you leave.  It helps our volunteers immensely.  Thanks.

Our village Over 60's Club are off on a Mystery Tour and Cream Tea! This part sponsored by your Club.  It is on Wednesday 11thJuly leaving the Green at 13.45 and returning , full of cream and tea, around 17.15. No more details (that is the mystery).  Thanks to our sponsorship it is £13 for Over 60's members.  If you are not one of them and want to go, it is £26 but you must book soon with Hilary (what a great job she does) 01892 723587 .  She won't tell you where you are going but it is around 40 minutes on the coach.

Have you this date in your Diary?  Saturday 21stJuly is our wonderful
BEER FESTIVAL and FAMILY BBQ.  Bigger and even better than previously.  Inside and outside your Club and spilling onto the Green. A huge fun loving gathering expected.  Live entertainment and a great atmosphere in the centre of our beautiful village. Great BBQ, or you can bring your own picnic.  Loads of different drinks from our bar and a HUGE selection of Real Ales.

Note; Age restrictions on alcohol strictly applied and No personal BBQ's outside the Club or on the Green.
