On a wider scale Heath Stores also raised £1200 for Children in Need last Friday.!  (re the latter – it was of course all down to Geoff M who dressed up as an unrecognisable Elton John. We expect more from you Geoff!!)

It is with regret that we have to tell you that our Club will not be open this Saturday. A few of our 'Saturday regulars' are away and because of this absolutely nobody showed up at our bar last Saturday.  It will probably be the same this week  We can not expect our volunteer bar staff to give up their Saturday nights and then be required only to just open and close an empty bar!  The lesson here is 'if you don't use it you lose it'

Burns Night Supper is on Saturday 19th January  2019.  Usual traditional format.  Excellent 'Scot's' atmosphere led by our piper, great food from Anthony, wonderful crowd of members bedecked in tartan etc, and amazing after dinner entertainment. All for £22.50 which includes a dram of 'malt' for the toasts.  Tickets go on sale on Sunday 2nd December lunch time when Alison will take cash or cheques.  Always a sell out – so be quick

Hilary does a great job running the Horsmonden Over 60's Club. Basically all on her own!  The load needs to be spread here.  Surely among all our members there must be one or more people who can pitch in and help out. Speak to Hilary and find out what you might be expected to do. If you are over 60 yourself, it does not matter you can still help – if you are under you will be over one day!

Coming up soon it will be our annual Carols on the Green. Led again by the magnificent East Peckham Band. (Lovely the sound Brass of band music).  However a bit different this year.  The band will play for our carol singing outside the Club from 8 pm for around 50 minutes (inside if the weather is against us). After that they will regroup inside your Club to play a selection from their great repertoire.  While they set up it is hoped the Village Choir will entertain you with seasonable pieces which they are currently trying to perfect.
All this while the warming mulled wine flows and the mince pies scoffed

Fancy a flutter?  Christmas Draw tickets are always available from the bar.  All the money taken will be spent on Prizes,of which there will be many.  Also raffle tickets for Christmas Festival Draw (8thDecember)- buying little and often might bring you luck.

It is getting filled up so HURRY- don't disappoint the youngsters.

The end of the year is nigh!  That means you are due to renew your Club Membership. Take a form from the Club bar and leave your subscription with the completed form with the bar staff.  PLEASE make sure you confirm your Email address or you will fail to get these newsletters. (Is that a good or a bad thing?).  Subs are due by 31st December but we do allow a one month period of 'grace'.
New members joining now will get membership through to end of 2019.   Many can't believe that it is so inexpensive to be a Club member and some add a donation as well, for which we are very, very grateful

Started with 'generosity' and finishing on the same note. The Foodstore Box has been emptied because it was overflowing (thanks to all but particularly to the tWIlite Club). Can we do our best to fill it again with seasonable items and even 'stocking fillers'?.  Bring joy to local people in need. Ho Ho Ho!
