VERY IMPORTANT! Your Club AGM is being held THIS FRIDAY (22nd) starting at 8pm at the Club.  Agenda and Accounts for 2018 are posted on the Notice Board and copies available at the meeting.  We urge all members to attend and participate in taking our Club forward into another year.  It is your opportunity to express your views and ideas and to elect the people you would like to see serving on our 2019 committee.

Our village Nostalgia Group reported that they had an excellent turn out and input at their gathering on Friday of last week.  It is amazing how people brave bad weather and public transport to attend these events which have an ideal setting in our Club.  One person even made it from Devon!!! A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all and more and more material collected and stored away for posterity.

The next get together will be on Friday 15th March when the basic theme will be Past Horsmonden Businesses – employers and employees.  That should get tongues wagging and everyone reminiscing!

The group are holding a Quiz Night at our Club on Saturday 6th April to raise money to fund more archiving equipment.  Watch for details but get your team ready.

No less than TWO  Coffee Mornings at our Club over the next two weeks!  On Tuesday (26th) it is the increasingly popular St Margaret's twice monthly one and first, on Wednesday 20th it is our village Kindergarten Coffee Morning with loads of cakes and other goodies  to tempt you.  Please do your best to call by and support this as they work so hard to raise funds for our Kindergarten.

Back to this week!   Thursday (21st) it is FILM NIGHT!!!  This month a really good film.  Problem is that, at this stage ,the title has yet to be disclosed!!  We do know the choice list is good so just come along and be pleasantly astonished.   It will start at 7.30  with the bar open from 7 pm It will make a change from seeing rugby on our BIG SCREEN anyway!

However 6 Nations Rugby will be back on Saturday (23rd) with France v Scotland at 2.15 followed by 'the BIG ONE' Wales v England at 4.45. Arrive early to get the best seats!  On Sunday your Club will remain open from lunchtime to take in the Ireland v Italy game which kicks off at 3pm in Dublin.

This month's Historical Society is on Thursday 28th Feb starting at 8 pm and has the very popular subject of one of our local historic buildings, SISSINGHURST CASTLE and GARDENS.  Stephen Harmer will be the speaker and the theme will be the History of the Garden and how it evolved around the beautiful buildings.  Guests are welcome for a modest fee.

We draw your attention to two village events that involve many of our members.  First HORSMONDEN PLAYERS  produce their Murder MysteryEvening on Friday and Saturday 1st and 2nd March in the Village Hall.  Tickets available from Heath Stores are £5. Teams of up to 6 persons and you take your own nibbles.  The smart money is on Pat Simmonds to be the murderer again!

The the following Friday (8th March) it is time for the Big Charity Night of Musical and Comedy entertainment again at the Village Hall. Just a few tickets left for this (£15) to witness the wonderful Opera-lele duo and then the amazing Andy Eastwood.  DO NOT miss this one!  Licensed Bar and bring nibbles.  You will hear great music with amusing introductions and banter.
