Quieter weekend this week with no 6 Nations Rugby but it will be back again next weekend. Proving to be very popular!  It is for certain that the singing of our Lady members from Wales spurred their side on to a great victory!!!
Why are we English so reserved? Let us have a bit of passion!

There are several things for you to sign up to or buy tickets from the club bar.

First our Day at the Races.  Saturday 11th May.  £32.50 provides you with travel to and from Lingfield in a luxury coach plus entrance to the course for a great day's racing.  The bus is over half full already so hurry up and secure your place.

Next- Nostalgia Group Quiz Night. This is being held at our Club on Saturday6th April.  Teams of max 8 in number or just turn up and be put in a friendly team.  Cost £3 a head.  Bound to be good.

Next again!   St George's Night Dinner.  A little way ahead but you need to get your tickets . They go on sale this weekend.  Date is Saturday 27th April.  Usual 'Hacker quality 3 course dinner with entertainment.  £22.50 a ticket- amazing value!!

Make a note that the next Men's Breakfast will be held at our Club on Saturday 30th March.  If you don't get an invite direct call Tim Coyne who is the organiser this time .

Now, we need to draw your attention to our Film Nights.  The one last week was poorly attended and it is very disheartening for those running these evenings when little interest is shown.  We started them because there was an overwhelming demand in village surveys for this activity. The usual excuse for people not attending is “you don't put on films that we like”.  Asked the question what do you like?  The answer is usually something vague like “something that makes me happy”.  Not a lot of use-so we want firm suggestions from you.    Films you like, even if they are not well known, that you feel other people ought to see.  We will put a box on the bar for suggestions. Please use it!

Meanwhile our Film for March (21st) will be KELLY'S HEROS. Described as a WW2 romp it stars Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas. (remember Kojak) This 1970 film should suit most of you,so make a note of the date.
We are trying hard here – but support is needed to keep us going.

For those of you who are lucky enough to have bought tickets for the Charity Music Night at the Village Hall on Saturday the 8th March. We are asked to tell you that it now 'kicks off' at 7pm with a great local 'warm up' group playing until Oper-lele take stage at 8pm.  So come early- the bar will be open and give yourselves time to settle in and experience quality entertainment.

Doesn't the Green look lovely with the crocuses!!
