Gillian has let us know that Brian's memorial service will be held on Friday 19 July at 3pm at St Margaret's Church with all who knew him welcome.

A Couple of Updates........

The coffee morning held in the Club last Saturday to raise funds towards the renovation of the garden of remembrance at the church raised over £700 which is fantastic so a big thank you to everyone who organised and contributed to the morning. More fundraising events to follow!!

Last newsletter, we gave a shout out to a new local club - C.O.A.C.H Tours, a new community group offering day trips and mini breaks by coach to the community at competitive rates. The group is run by volunteers and they have received a huge response to their initial advertisements so please bare with them as they work their way through all the red tape required to set and run a club like this. The Horsmonden Nostalgia Group are pleased to announce the next Nostalgia Club meeting for the community will be held on Tuesday 16th July at the Social Club from 2pm to 5pm.

The Group will be taking a look at where the names of local landmarks and places originated and photos of then and now as well as looking at the local history of past buildings, businesses and people, village changes and development, buildings that remain and their significance today.

They would like to extend this project to names of individual dwellings that were built ‘back in the day’ and would be pleased to hear from owners of properties that have a nostalgic or historical connection.

Any old photos or documents would be particularly welcomed for scanning/digitising and for use in an account of the village in past times.
